The Opportunity

In the role of Audit Lead, you will contribute to a variety of audit engagements, playing a vital role in assurance and advisory projects. A key responsibility will involve testing models and tools during audits. You will support the Auditor-In-Charge in maintaining knowledge of financial services regulations, ensuring effective interactions with regulators. This position provides oversight on multiple audit projects, participating in planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases. You will assist in developing and executing a risk-based audit plan while establishing collaborative relationships with clients to enhance internal controls and assess risk effectively. Adhering to the Institute of Internal Auditors' Standards and Code of Ethics is essential.

This opportunity offers flexibility with an expectation to work in the office 4 days per week, based in San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Your Contribution:

  • Engage in continuous monitoring, advisory activities, special reviews, and investigations.
  • Ensure that audit engagements are completed objectively, professionally, and in a timely manner while adhering to established standards.
  • Identify control weaknesses, recommend improvements, and draft audit issues and reports for leadership review.
  • Support audit quality reviews and provide updates to the risk assessment based on findings.
  • Build strong client relationships to advance strategic objectives.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, delivering risk assessments and critical messages, including interactions with regulators and executives.
  • Offer coaching to other auditors, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to the internal audit universe and continuously update risk profiles.
  • Participate in developing and executing the annual audit plan, focusing on assessing risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or IT, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years in audit, financial services, insurance, banking, IT, or related fields.
  • Experience in internal or external audits within complex regulatory environments.
  • Strong background in audit theory and internal audit principles.
  • Proficiency in communicating with business partners to influence outcomes regarding controls.
  • Understanding of risks, internal controls, and their adequacy.
  • Experience mentoring team members throughout audits.
  • Collaborative experience with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced critical thinking and data analysis skills.
  • Able to navigate a dynamic environment with competing priorities.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • ACAS or FCAS designation.
  • Experience with P&C model frameworks, including pricing, reserving, and enterprise risk.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Mathematics, or Data Science.
  • In-depth knowledge of SR 11-7 and ASOP 56.

Compensation: The salary for this role ranges from $143,320 to $273,930, dependent on experience and market data.
